Information technology bangala is expected to be given the status of a hub in the next few years.
The information technology industry in the state has been under the scanner of the state government since it was declared as a non-performing sector in 2014.
But in September last year, the state cabinet passed a notification to establish a centralised data centre in the State capital.
The government has sought to move the data centre, known as a Data Centre in India (DCI), into the central hub, to facilitate the speedy processing of data.
However, the move has also been opposed by the Centre, which has opposed the move saying it will hinder its ability to track down the source of data for the welfare of the citizens.
