If you’re using a desktop computer for gaming or streaming video, you’re always going to be using a lot of heat, which can make it a hassle to keep it under control.
Luckily, there’s a way to minimize your computer’s heat production without resorting to excessive heat sinks, heat-pipes or fans.
It’s called “fan cooling,” and if you use a fan that’s compatible with your computer, it’s a quick and easy way to keep the heat under control on your computer.
Here’s how to do it.1.
Check your system’s heat sinks.
Most modern desktop and laptop computers use a single large fan that turns up the heat from your system, but some systems are equipped with multiple fans, or they can run multiple fans.
If your system has a single fan, turn it on to make sure it’s working properly.
If it’s not working properly, check to make certain that there’s enough air circulating to circulate the air in the fan and keep it working properly and efficiently.
If your system uses multiple fans or fans with different speed settings, check the manufacturer’s instructions for how the fan should operate.
The manufacturer usually provides some way to control the speed of the fan, which in some cases is called a fan speed control.
If you have a fan with an adjustable speed, it might be the best way to cool your system.
If there’s no adjustable speed for your fan, try a smaller, less-powerful fan that doesn’t need as much airflow.2.
Remove any fan heat that’s still attached to your system and put it on the fan’s mounting points.
If a fan is on its mounting points, it can help keep heat in your system by making sure that it doesn’t reach your system during normal use.
If a fan’s attached to the CPU, the fan can be a good source of heat during idle, which could reduce the performance of your system as well as potentially cause other problems.3.
Replace the fan that is still attached.
If the fan you removed is still in its mounting point, it may be a better idea to replace it.
A fan that isn’t attached to any of the fans will be a more suitable source of thermal energy for your system than a fan attached to a CPU, but if you’re looking for a cheaper alternative, consider replacing the fan with a fan designed to work with the heat-sink from your computer that is already on.
If there’s an existing fan that you’re happy with, but it’s damaged or doesn’t work well with your system (like if it’s worn out), it might help to replace the fan.
If the fan still has a fan, you can also replace it with a better fan that uses a different type of heat-spike.4.
Install a fan cooling fan.
If this doesn’t fix the problem, consider purchasing a fan cooler that will help keep the fan cool.
This may include an adjustable fan speed, which allows you to control how fast the fan spins.
It can also include an automatic fan switch that automatically turns the fan on and off when the system temperature drops below a certain threshold.

Connect a heat sink.
If heat sinks are available, check that they’re compatible with the fan they are connected to.
If they don’t have a slot for a fan to run through, you’ll need to install a fan controller, which is a device that uses temperature sensors to determine how hot your fan is and how much heat it should dissipate.
It also includes a cooling fan, so it can regulate the speed at which your system is running to keep you cool.
To install a heat-resistance fan controller or a fan switch, follow the manufacturer instructions.
You’ll also need to connect a heat source that you can measure and control.
You may also need a fan-supplied power supply to control your fan.6.
Install heat-strip strips.
A heat-resistant heat-stripping system can reduce your computer system’s overall system temperature and help reduce heat generation from your heat sinks and fans.
This is especially important if you have multiple heat-absorbing surfaces on your motherboard, so you need to keep heat from spreading into these areas.
To install a heatsink, place one strip of heatproof material at the top of the heatsink to absorb heat.
Next, place the strip in the slot of your heatsink and fasten it to the heatsinks, as shown below.7.
